After 8 nightly vigils we were rewarded by the appearance of 89 hatchlings at about 8 pm on Friday 8/6/04. The nest cleaning yielded another 8 and there were 9 unhatched. The remaining eggs of the original 132 had been predated by raccoons before the emergence.
